I visited Trinidad & Tobago earlier this year and went fabric shopping as I always do.  You can find the most vibrant fabrics at comparable prices in T&T.  There is so much to choose from, so many fabric stores side by side.  If you are a sewist you can go completely wild.  I purchased this plaid cotton fabric and made this two piece summer ensemble that can be worn several ways, as separates, mix and match with solid tops and bottoms or as a one piece dress belted at the waist.

Blue Jersey off the shoulder gathered blouse with ranglan sleeve and wide leg pants gathered at the waist.  Top can be worn separately with tights and pants can be worn with variety of tops and scarfs for different looks

Blue jersey wide leg pants gathered at the waist, worn with yellow top and yellow and blue scarf for versatility

Love this white dress with lace trim  I made for my vacation

African Influence - Wrap Culotte, tied at the front and short bolero with puff sleeve.

I made this chiffon top in about one hour, a square piece of fabric doubled in two, cut a neckline, and stitch up the sides. The pants was made of jersey material. Very soft and comfortable.  It was ideal for Carnival Tuesday.

Jersey Tunic with side slit, piped around the sleeve and neckline

Brown chiffon animal print, draped top - open down the front

Little girls dresses are a joy to make.  You can be creative in your choice of fabric and style.  And Mickey Mouse is always a hit.
